Support at Home is bringing big changes to how aged care providers plan, deliver, and price their services. At Lookout, we’ve built new tools that help you stay ahead— and setting up your service rates correctly is one of the first and most important steps in a smooth transition.
From aligning your services with the new price limits to rolling out rate updates across your workforce, we’ve built the tools and workflows to make it simple. Whether you're already using Lookout or exploring a better way to manage your transition; see how easy it is to set up and configure your new Support at Home rates in Lookout with accuracy and ease.
Start with the services you’ll deliver
If you're involved in finance or service planning, you'll know that pricing can get complicated fast. Different regions, different schedules, different funding rules — and all of it needs to be accurate, flexible, and ready to go live. Lookout provides a guided, CSV-based setup flow that allows you to define services, tailor pricing, and add segments and variants — all before uploading.
Our new Support at Home pricing tools are designed to take the pressure off. They make it easy to set up a clear, consistent rate structure now — and even easier to adjust it later as the program evolves.
To get started, just select the Support at Home services your organisation plans to provide. Lookout will automatically build a CSV template with all the correct rate names and codes, so you can set your pricing with confidence.
No manual mapping. No guesswork. Just a clean, ready-to-fill template — built around your actual service mix.
Segment where you need to
Need different rates for different locations or groups? No problem.
You can add segments to apply different prices to the same service — for example, one set of rates for metro Members and another for regional. Each segment automatically duplicates the relevant services in your CSV, so you can customise while keeping everything consistent and traceable.
Add variants for different times of day or week
Variants let you define pricing based on visit timing — like weekday vs weekend, or public holidays.
Each service starts with a standard (or ‘parent’) rate, and variants inherit from that parent unless you override the details. That means less repetition, fewer errors, and a structure that’s easy to maintain.
Better yet: Lookout will soon auto-select the correct rate variant during rostering, based on when a visit is scheduled. That’s less back-and-forth between finance and rostering, and a smoother experience for everyone.
Download, edit, upload — done
Once you’ve tailored your template with the services, segments, and variants you need, just download your CSV. You can edit it in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets — and when you’re ready, upload it straight into Lookout.
The importer will walk you through checks and validation, helping you fix any issues along the way. Once your rates are published, they’ll appear under your Support at Home tab, ready for rostering and service planning.
Built to keep up
We know Support at Home isn’t just a one-off setup — it’s a shift in how aged care providers operate.
Lookout’s rate tools are designed to help you stay agile. Whether you're adjusting prices, adding new services, or expanding to new areas, your system can flex with you. So you’re not just prepared for July — you’re ready for whatever comes next.
